Position Overview
SteerBridge is seeking a Cloud Engineer to build and operate the AWS GovCloud infrastructure behind a mission-critical Defense Aviation platform used by federal customers. This role focuses on the day-to-day engineering of secure, automated cloud environments that host fleet readiness, maintenance, and logistics workloads.
The engineer will work directly with solutions architects, security engineers, data teams, and platform owners to provision infrastructure as code, automate hardened image pipelines, and keep production environments reliable, compliant, and observable.
This is a hands-on role. The ideal candidate is comfortable across Linux and Windows environments, writes infrastructure as code, automates repetitive operational work, and methodically troubleshoots networking, identity, and compute issues in a regulated cloud.
SteerBridge operates in AWS GovCloud and applies hardened, STIG-aligned baselines and automated CI/CD pipelines to deliver infrastructure that meets DoD security expectations. Cloud engineers keep these systems running and continuously improve their automation, resilience, and cost efficiency.
This is a hybrid position based in Vienna, VA.
