About the Engineering Manager role…

Reporting to the engineering director, you will drive the technical execution in line with business objectives, whilst ensuring the development of your team and culture within your designated portfolio.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be capable in the areas of people, leadership, planning, delivery, stakeholder engagement, and influencing. Pairing with product managers, this role will work with engineering and product leadership to shape, roadmap and enable robust, planning and delivery, while also contributing to broader initiative across the engineering organ

What You’ll do…..

  • Work closely with engineering and product leaders to set the roadmap, goals, priorities and workflow for the flagship portfolio of the company
  • Drive the delivery of roadmap items and projects
  • Build, and lead technical teams to work effectively in collaborative environment establish successful ways of working with both remote and distributed resources and teams
  • Drive high performing software engineer teams, develop, and coach engineers through regular 1:1’s provide constructive feedback sessions, performance management, (including managing under performance) and lead effective performance reviews
  • Recruit and on board new technical new members
  • Invest in teams, professional growth by identifying development, opportunities, offering coaching and pathways for career progression
  • Ensure a consistent approach to engineering practices and delivery methodologies
  • Contribute to wider engineering initiatives
  • Ensure high-quality software is delivered by your teams,
  • Enable productivity by removing roadblocks, delegating and escalating foster environment,

What you have……

  • Foster strong engagement and collaboration, including building, strong relationships, promoting team collaboration, recognizing and rewarding achievements and encouraging feedback.
  • Experience leading and managing technical teams in software/SAAS environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading technically complex projects
  • Experience in hiring, evaluating the performance and developing the skills and careers of software engineers
  • Experience, implementing reliable, and efficient processes to accelerate software development and improve quality
  • Experience in driving in automation, efficiency and AI engineering tooling
  • Adoption in depth, understanding of agile software develop and methodologies and tools (Jeera and confluence)
  • Competent level knowledge of project and change management principles and methodologies scope, timeline and budgets
  • Experience with a geographically distributed teams and international experience would be highly advantageous understanding and demandable experience of high volume real time systems would be highly regarded
