Job Summary The Mechanical Maintenance Senior Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role leads and supports preventive and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults in production lines, utilities, HVAC systems, and other plant equipment.

Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, compressors, gearboxes, valves, conveyors, mixers, and other mechanical equipment.

Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) , safety, and regulatory requirements.

Support maintenance activities related to HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, steam, and other utility systems.

Monitor equipment performance and identify potential failures to improve reliability and minimize downtime.

Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth operations and minimize equipment downtime.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and technical documentation.

Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Lead or support the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new mechanical equipment and systems.

Ensure proper alignment, lubrication, calibration, and functioning of mechanical equipment and instruments.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and equipment reliability.

Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and maintenance technicians.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering .

3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the pharmaceutical or FMCG industry.

Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment and maintenance practices.

Good understanding of HVAC and utility systems.

Knowledge of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, valves, piping systems, and rotating equipment.

Understanding of GMP, safety standards, and regulatory requirements is preferred.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.

Experience in troubleshooting industrial mechanical systems and equipment.
