We are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our 24/7 emergency team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident in clinical support duties, and is passionate about patient care.

Schedule & Shift Differentials

Day and Night shifts available

+$4/hr shift differential for shifts worked Monday–Sunday, 7:00pm–7:00am

+$2/hr shift differential for shifts worked Saturday & Sunday, 7:00am–7:00pm

Position Summary

The Emergency Veterinary Assistant plays a critical role in supporting veterinarians and technicians in the delivery of high-quality emergency care. This position assists with patient handling, treatments, diagnostics, and maintaining a safe, efficient clinical environment while providing compassionate support to patients and clients during stressful situations.

What You’ll Do

Support veterinarians and technicians during emergency procedures and treatments

Safely restrain and handle patients with compassion and confidence

Assist with diagnostics, treatments, and patient monitoring as directed

Maintain clean, organized treatment and patient care areas

Provide comfort and support to patients throughout their hospital stay

Communicate respectfully and effectively with team members in a high-acuity setting

Uphold PSVSE standards for safety, cleanliness, and patient care

What We’re Looking For

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant required

Prior experience in an emergency or specialty setting preferred

Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and compassionate in emergency situations

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Commitment to learning and continuous improvement

Compensation Range $20 — $28 USD
