Accountabilities: The Victim Services Specialist is responsible for delivering direct assistance, advocacy, and resource coordination to survivors and families affected by impaired driving incidents. The role requires strong case management skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to collaborate with community organizations and justice partners.

Conduct individual assessments with victims and survivors to identify emotional, practical, and informational needs, providing appropriate crisis intervention, referrals, and ongoing support.

Develop and implement personalized case management plans that may include grief support, counseling referrals, support groups, and assistance with essential needs.

Provide victim advocacy by helping individuals understand and exercise their rights while offering guidance through legal, financial, medical, and justice-related processes.

Accompany victims and survivors to court proceedings when needed and provide support throughout related legal processes.

Perform community needs assessments to identify service gaps and develop outreach strategies that improve awareness and access to available resources.

Build and maintain relationships with legal, healthcare, social service, and community partners to strengthen victim support networks.

Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers who contribute to victim service initiatives.

Maintain accurate case documentation, statistical records, and required reports while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational standards.

Collaborate with internal teams to provide consultation, resources, and additional support for complex victim service needs.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will bring experience in human services, advocacy, or grief support, along with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities. This role requires professionalism, compassion, confidentiality, and the ability to manage sensitive situations independently.

Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field such as social work, psychology, sociology, or criminal justice, with experience in victim advocacy, case management, or grief support preferred.

Equivalent professional experience in victim services, crisis support, advocacy, or working with bereaved individuals may also be considered.

Strong understanding of trauma-informed support practices and the ability to provide compassionate assistance to individuals experiencing difficult circumstances.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain information and build trust with diverse audiences.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, manage deadlines, and maintain accurate records.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external community partners.

Reliable transportation and flexibility to attend court proceedings and community-related activities when required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, online data systems, and basic record-keeping processes.

Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, accountability, and service-oriented work.
