Accountabilities: As a Senior Database Administrator, you will own the stability, evolution, and optimization of production database environments. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to ensure operational excellence, implement improvements, and support business-critical platforms.

Ensure availability, performance, reliability, and security of Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting critical applications.

Administer and optimize SQL Server 2017 and 2022 environments across on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure.

Monitor database performance, troubleshoot incidents, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Lead initiatives related to high availability, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and platform resilience.

Optimize SQL queries, execution plans, stored procedures, and database structures in collaboration with development teams.

Support database modernization initiatives, including Database-as-Code practices, CI/CD integrations, and cloud adoption.

Define and maintain database administration standards, operational procedures, security controls, and governance practices.

Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and engineering teams on capacity planning, lifecycle management, compliance, and transformation projects.

Create technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing within the DBA team.

Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for critical production incidents, maintenance activities, and deployments.

Contribute to automation initiatives using scripting languages and modern infrastructure practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced database professional with strong Microsoft SQL Server expertise, cloud knowledge, and a proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges. You should be comfortable working in international environments and communicating effectively with distributed teams.

Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, enterprise architecture, and database administration best practices.

Advanced experience managing Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and 2022.

Hands-on experience with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and clustering technologies.

Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Service Broker.

Knowledge of SQL Profiler, performance analysis tools, and database troubleshooting techniques.

Strong experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, including Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Linked Servers, and query optimization.

Experience troubleshooting performance issues, deadlocks, and complex database workloads.

Experience managing SQL Server workloads in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Machines and Azure SQL.

Knowledge of database security practices, RBAC, encryption, auditing, and vulnerability management.

Familiarity with Database-as-Code concepts and version-controlled database deployment methodologies.

Basic knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Packer.

Experience integrating database processes with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience with monitoring, observability, and root cause analysis for database environments.

Ability to automate tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools.

Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate daily with international teams.

Analytical mindset, organization skills, attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving approach.

Nice-to-have experience includes:

Experience implementing Database-as-Code solutions using Liquibase or similar tools.

Experience with database deployments through CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.

Knowledge of automation tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.

Experience with observability platforms such as Splunk or Dynatrace.

Background working with hybrid environments combining on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure.

Familiarity with Azure database services and cloud-native database solutions.

Experience integrating DBA activities with Platform Engineering practices.

Experience with database hardening, vulnerability remediation, and security initiatives.
