Together we can do great things!     About the area    Inter IKEA Group is organized in three core businesses - Range, Supply and Retail Concept - and five enabling functions. Together we contribute to the success of IKEA and share responsibility for the franchise offer.   The enabling functions lead key common activities in networks across Inter IKEA Group, as well as cover specific needs for the core businesses. The five Enabling functions are Operations Management, Business Performance & Support, Communication, Sustainability and People & Culture.    Operations Management leads and holds together the development and maintenance of a common foundation for how we work together across the value chain, our operating model. We are looking for a  Software Engineer  to join our Data & Engineering platform team and help build a modern data foundation that enables true self-serve analytics on scale.  You’ll work at the  intersection of software, data and platform engineering, and developer experience , enabling teams across the organization to  easily discover, access, and use data.   What you’ll do  As a Software Engineer in our Data Foundation team, you will:  Build and evolve our  data platform capabilities  to support self-service analytics and data product thinking  Design and develop  platform services, tooling, and frameworks  that enable data producers and consumers  Work with  Databricks  as a core component of our modern data platform  Contribute to our  knowledge graph / metadata layer , improving discoverability, lineage, and data understanding  Implement and promote  DevOps practices  (CI/CD, automation, testing, IaC) for data and platform engineering  Develop solutions across  multi-cloud environments (Azure & AWS )  Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and domain teams to  remove friction and improve developer experience   Drive standardization, scalability, and best practices across the platform  What we’re looking for  We believe you are a curious and pragmatic engineer who enjoys building platforms that others rely on.  Required experience:  Strong experience in  software engineering  (Python, JS/TS, Go, or similar)  Experience working with d ata platforms or data-intensive systems  Hands-on experience with  Databricks or similar distributed data frameworks (e.g., Spark)  Experience with  cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)  Familiarity with  DevOps practices , including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automation  Experience designing  APIs, services, or reusable platform components  Bonus (nice to have):  Experience working with  knowledge graphs, metadata platforms, or data catalogs  Exposure to  Data Mesh or data product thinking  Experience with  self-service data platforms or developer platforms  Knowledge of  governance, lineage, and data discoverability solutions  How you’ll work  You’ll be part of a  platform-oriented team , focused on enabling others  You’ll collaborate closely with  Engineering, Analytics, and Domain teams  You’ll contribute to a culture of  data empowerment (not just enablement)  You’ll focus on  long-term scalability, not just short-term delivery   Why join us?  Work on  strategic, company-wide capabilities   Help build a modern data platform from a strong cloud-native foundation  Be part of a team shaping how  data is used across the organization  Drive real impact by enabling  self-serve analytics at scale  Opportunity to work across  Databricks, knowledge graph technologies, and multi-cloud environments  Additional information We look forward to receiving your application.
