Duties and Responsibilities Build and manage relationships with drayage carriers through sourcing using warm and cold calls

Input and execute loads for dispatch/pick-up according to clients’ needs and requirements while maintaining flexibility to customer demands

Independently coordinate available carriers with customer freight

Work with other members of the Drayage Team to ensure all drayage freight is covered efficiently and effectively

Gather pricing information for better negotiation and capacity planning

Monitor and track shipments to provide timely updates to the Business Development and Account Management Teams

Manage up to date market trends as it changes daily and seasonally

Communicate with carriers and internal departments with a sense of urgency to schedule pickups, deliveries, updates, and resolve any issues

Establish and create carrier relationships and partnerships at national port and rail heads

Track and Trace containers to avoid demurrage and rail storage

Develop a solid understanding of the import/export process for ocean containers including the customs clearance process, rail/terminal operations, and the specific information needed to keep containers moving

Ensure all documentation regarding drayage shipments are correct, clear, and communicated to the appropriate parties and proactively identify when missing details will causes problems before they occur

Possess a strong understanding of rate reconciliation for drayage shipments

Understand accessorial and the importance of time sensitive resolution

Ensure all shipments are properly billed within company guidelines and timelines

Experience and Qualifications One year Drayage experience preferred

One year Carrier Sales experience preferred

High School Diploma Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience highly preferred

Experience conducting business over the phone highly preferred

Knowledge and Skills Superb verbal and written communication, strong phone presence

Proven ability to work independently and be a team player in a fast-paced environment

Possess the "Hungry" and "Hunter" mentality

Ability to problem-solve and handle high-stress environment while hitting KPI’s

Strong people skills including ability to build relationships with carriers

Determination and tenaciousness with strong work ethic, self-motivation, and sales drive
