About the role
Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Manager - Systems and Information Management (MEAC) as part of our system and data management team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, this position will be full time based in Wood office Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Role overview
The job holder is responsible for performance of the regional systems and information management function, leading the teams that support the associated tools and applications across all three business units.
This constitutes the technical systems, data platforms and data integrations, as well as the documents and records management function within the region. The job holder will also act as the regional focal point for interfaces with IT and software vendors, as may be necessary to support the objectives.
Key high-level objectives
Own and lead centralized systems and data objectives across the region, to drive consistent delivery execution
Lead as the focal point accountable for systems performance in the region
Lead the combined team of system administrators and specialists, ensuring optimal levels of capability and capacity within the support teams to meet all regional contract delivery requirements whilst maximising utilisation of specialists
Facilitate and support systems, tools and digital innovation across the lifecycle of contracts in the region
Lead and enhance the information management solutions in the region, including improvements for both technical data management and document control
Support the Regional Technical Leaders to ensure complimentary approaches in relation to the technical systems and contract delivery
Coordinate with the Identify, Acquire, Deliver teams to ensure effective tools and systems are selected and implemented for delivery across the region
Partner with Group IT to ensure the effective operation of systems and information management across the region

Key accountabilities
Performance
Drive HSSE and quality culture and performance
Lead Wood’s regional technical systems and information management function, including BU specific solutions utilised by Wood’s technical people for delivery of their services in the region
Support delivery of projects against contractual requirements and HSSE quality, cost, and schedule requirements, to deliver or improve upon as-sold margin
Ensure the use of harmonised systems and consistent data structures across the region
Support the technical function leadership with the maintenance and continuous improvement of the systems
Own and lead implementation plans and associated training to ensure consistent application of the technical systems across the region
Coordinate end-of-life support for all applicable legacy systems and tools, and plan transitional training and upskilling as appropriate for system administration specialists
Identify inefficiencies, analyse workflows, and make decisions to streamline the technical systems for better performance
Proactively engage with industry stakeholders, customers and suppliers as necessary
Strategy and development / business development
Provide key insights and input to the business development process to support the pursuit of new work for the regional teams
Drive the strengthening and deepening of the use of workshare operations to maximise efficiency and profit for the region
Address challenges in contract delivery, troubleshooting system issues, and driving improvements through strategic decision-making and resource allocation
People
Lead the regional specialist support teams and subject-matter experts for all applicable systems and tools – ensuring effective resource planning and utilisation across the region
Line management of direct reports, including setting targets and objectives, completing performance reviews and periodic pay reviews, and supporting HR-related processes and requests
Support of career development and progression processes, competency management and training for employees within scope, and succession planning and business continuity across the function
Promote a positive and inclusive team culture which recognises the value that different perspectives and cultures bring
Governance, policies and procedures
Manage consistency of technical systems and tools across the region
Interface with regional functions to complement activities
Authorisation of costs and expenses in accordance with delegation of authority
Work relationships
Internal:
Part of the Systems & Data leadership team - this role interfaces closely with the regional P&L Owner and Technical Leader, to enable effective contract delivery across the region.
Work with the Acquire function to develop suitable proposal inputs, select the appropriate tools and systems, and prepare deployment plans pre-contract award.
Coordinate with Group IT function and contract management team to deploy and set up the required tools and systems post-contract award.

Expected qualifications and experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field
Extensive prior experience in a technical function department management role
Extensive experience in capital projects execution
Understanding of general project execution and delivery tools, processes and procedures
Understanding of the delivery technical functions including project management, project controls, engineering, supply chain (project procurement and sub-contracts), construction, operations and maintenance
Understanding of the business drivers for energy and materials clients
Experience applying strategies for implementing and managing change in organizations
Ability to drive influence and results
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
