This position is located at USAG Bavaria - MWR, Library, Garmisch, Germany. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Major duties

  • Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public.
  • Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdues and reserves, assists with interlibrary loans and reserves, shelves library materials, prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions.
  • Assists customers in locating materials; and/or provides technical services support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials.
  • Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade OR Two years of education above high school OR A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": One year experience working in a community library Some college coursework Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager.
