Sydnor Hydro, a UFT company is a construction and equipment supply company specializing in groundwater and wastewater systems and products. We serve federal, state, and municipal governments as well as industrial, commercial, and recreational customers throughout Virginia and in eastern North Carolina, South Carolina, and Maryland.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our day-to-day office operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position requires working in office in Richmond, VA, Monday – Friday 7am-4pm.

What you'll do: Administrative Support

Answer and direct incoming phone calls and greet visitors professionally

Manage office correspondence, filing, and document organization

Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and coordinate travel arrangements as needed

Order office supplies and ensure the office remains organized and well-stocked

Prepare reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and other business documents

Support leadership with various administrative projects and special assignment

Use company vehicles on occasion to deliver parts to customers

Payroll

Reviewing hours submitted by employees

Coordinate with managers to resolve timesheet discrepancies

Job Costing & Accounting Support

Enter job cost data into the accounting system and ensure accuracy

Support invoicing, purchase orders, and vendor documentation

Enter purchase orders

What you bring: Required Skills

High school diploma or equivalent required

2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, industrial services, or a project-based environment

Valid driver’s license

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality

Team-oriented with a positive, customer-service mindset

A proactive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed

The ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization

Ability to work onsite 7am to 4pm

Preferred Skills

Associate's degree

Experience with accounting software. Foundations is a plus

Experience with job costing or project accounting

Experience with timesheet management programs

Compensation: $20-25 per hour

Pay will depend on education, experience, skills, and location. The posted range reflects our current expectations but may change.
