Job Title: Materials Handler

Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Summary:

The First Electronics Corporation (FEC) is an engineering and custom cable manufacturing company. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, FEC is ISO 9001:2015 certified and provides custom cable design and assembly to defense and aerospace customers. Our major customers include leading defense contractors such as Raytheon, BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, and The United States Government.

Minimum Qualifications Experience:  UPS and FedEx or other shipping software

Skills:  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Assembles and packs orders and items securely and effectively to minimize breakage

Carefully builds and wraps pallets for secure shipment with freight carriers

Verifies and records shipment data to ensure accuracy of the shipments and orders

Processes and maintains shipment data through ERP system to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided as needed

Transports packages, raw materials, and goods to employees in various departments as needed to meet production requirements

Prepares area for daily shipment by replenishing shipping supplies, and assembling cardboard boxes and pallets

This position provides support and interacts with all FEC employees including business owners, the greater management team, and team members in Production, Administration, Quality, and other departments

Assemble kits with necessary materials for production jobs as required

Receive and verify all incoming materials, including mate cables to issue to the production floor as needed

Conduct weekly cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory records

File and scan all accompanying documents (packing slips, certificates)

Participate as a team player, assisting other departments or cross-training in other departments during periods of reduced activity
