Site Safety Representative (Contract), Solar Manufacturing Facility Construction

Provisio EHS Consulting is hiring a Site Safety Representative for solar manufacturing facility construction in Jeffersonville, Indiana. You will be on site full time, overseeing safety for low- and medium-voltage electrical subcontractors and other trades. This is an hourly contract role with no benefits. The assignment starts before November 10, 2026 and runs through September 2027. Local candidates only. You must live within daily commuting distance of Jeffersonville, IN or Louisville, KY (for example New Albany, Clarksville, Sellersburg, or the Louisville area). Travel and lodging are not paid. What you will do

• Be the on-site safety presence every workday, walking the job and correcting hazards in the field
• Oversee low- and medium-voltage electrical subcontractors for safe work practices, including energized work controls and lockout/tagout
• Review subcontractor safety plans, JHAs and pre-task plans, and hold subcontractors to the site safety plan
• Run site orientations, toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Do daily and weekly inspections and document findings and corrective actions
• Stop unsafe work when needed
• Report and help investigate incidents and near misses
• Keep safety records and training documentation current

Requirements

• OSHA 30 (required)
• Real field safety experience on construction or industrial sites (required)
• Able to be on site Monday to Friday, plus some Saturdays, from a start before November 10, 2026 through September 2027
• Live within commuting distance of Jeffersonville, IN / Louisville, KY
• Comfortable working with and correcting subcontractor crews and supervisors

Preferred

• Electrical safety experience: NFPA 70E, LOTO, and low- or medium-voltage construction
• Solar, utility, or electrical contractor safety experience
• CHST is a plus (other BCSP credentials such as STS or CSP also welcome)
• OSHA 500 or 510

Pay and hours

• $35 to $40 per hour, based on experience, paid as W-2 or 1099
• Overtime after 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week, and for weekend and holiday work
• Hourly contract role. No benefits.
