About the Role:

Niagen Bioscience is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Manager, Business Development to lead the growth of our international distribution and commercial partnerships, with an initial focus on China cross-border and Asia Pacific. This role is responsible for expanding existing partnerships while identifying new revenue opportunities across retail, wholesale, distribution, and e-commerce channels globally.

The Senior Manager will own key distributor relationships and China cross-border e-commerce partnerships (including platforms such as Tmall Global and JD Worldwide), driving sell-in and sell-through across international markets. This role requires a hands-on commercial operator who can balance relationship management with proactive business development to drive sustainable and profitable growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong connections with cross-border e-commerce platforms, distributors, and buyers, along with experience in consumer health, supplements, or regulated products, and a proven ability to grow distribution across international markets.

Core Expectations:

Commercial & Partner Management

Own the commercial performance and P&L of assigned markets and partners, including revenue, profitability, inventory, and promotional investments.

Develop pricing, assortment, merchandising, and promotional strategies that strengthen sell-in, sell-through, and long-term channel profitability.

Evaluate the performance and ROI of commercial investments and recommend adjustments to improve resource allocation and financial returns.

Lead annual business planning, partner scorecards, and quarterly business reviews to track sales, inventory, execution, and brand-development objectives.

Build and grow relationships with key distributors, buyers, trading partners, and cross-border e-commerce platforms.

Partner with internal teams to support platform launches, expansions, and account-specific initiatives

International Distribution Strategy & Market Development

Expand presence in priority international markets, with an initial focus on China and Asia Pacific, while identifying opportunities in additional regions as the business grows.

Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distribution partners and channel opportunities across priority international markets to drive incremental revenue growth

Assess market dynamics, competitive landscape, and channel performance across international markets to inform strategic decisions

Develop market-specific growth strategies based on consumer insights, competitive dynamics, and channel opportunities.

Build a robust pipeline of opportunities and drive deals from prospecting through execution

Serve as a trusted commercial advisor to distributors and retail partners, recommending strategies to expand distribution, improve execution, and accelerate growth.

Explore innovative distribution models, including cross-border e-commerce marketplaces, digital health platforms, and strategic alliances

Structure and negotiate partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with company financial and strategic goals

Navigate regulatory, compliance, and operational considerations across China and broader Asia Pacific markets

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Lead cross-functional execution across Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Science, including product registration, localization, and launch execution, to support successful launches and business growth.

Own demand forecasting for assigned markets and work with Finance and Supply Chain to maintain product availability and optimize inventory.

Align product launches, promotions, and content strategies with distribution partner needs

Ensure partnerships and channel activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and company brand standards.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in business development, sales, international distribution, e-commerce, or another commercial function.

Proven experience managing international distribution, e-commerce, or commercial channel partnerships. Experience in Asia Pacific and/or China cross-border commerce is highly desirable.

Experience in consumer health, supplements, wellness, or regulated products strongly preferred

Demonstrated success developing or scaling business in China and/or other Asia Pacific markets

Strong negotiation, relationship management, and deal-making skills

Demonstrated ability to develop commercial strategies while driving hands-on execution.

Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&Ls, revenue targets, pricing strategy, and profitability

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

Existing relationships with cross-border e-commerce platforms, distributors, or trading partners in Asia Pacific

Experience with cross-border e-commerce platforms (e.g., Rakuten, Coupang, Tmall Global, JD Worldwide)

Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for supplements or healthcare products

Experience scaling emerging brands globally

Business proficiency in Mandarin preferred; proficiency in another regional language a plus
