Specialist SEN Tutor – SLD, Autism & ADHD Location: Southend-on-Sea (SS2)

Pay: £35–£40 per hour PAYE + paid planning & preparation

Hours: 3 hours per day, Monday–Friday | 18 paid hours per week

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting an experienced Specialist SEN Tutor to support a young person with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASC), ADHD and non-verbal communication needs.

You will deliver 3 hours of 1:1 tuition per day, Monday–Friday, working alongside two experienced Support Workers as part of a 3:1 support package. You will be paid for 18 hours per week – 15 hours of tuition plus 3 hours for planning and preparation, equivalent to approximately £42–£48 per teaching hour.

You will plan and deliver a diverse, personalised curriculum focused on communication, engagement, independence and life skills, with access to a garden and outdoor gym for practical and sensory learning.

Requirements:

• Minimum Level 5 qualification in Education & Training or equivalent.
• Strong experience with SLD, Autism, ADHD and non-verbal learners.
• Confident planning and adapting an individualised curriculum.
• Experience supporting behaviours that challenge and using de-escalation strategies.
• Patient, creative, consistent and relationship-led.
