Quotation And Purchasing Executive - Ship Chandling
MESCO Marine is a ship chandling and marine supply company serving vessels across Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah ports. We supply provisions, stores, and spares to vessels — often within hours of receiving a request.
The Role You will own the commercial engine of our supply operation: turning vessel RFQs into accurate quotations fast, sourcing the best price from our supplier network, and driving each order through to delivery onboard. If you enjoy fast-moving purchasing work where the deadline is a vessel's sailing time — not a monthly cycle — this role will suit you.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate quotations from vessel RFQs, often under tight deadlines.
- Source and compare offers from local and international suppliers.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Issue LPOs / Purchase Orders and follow up until goods are delivered onboard.
- Coordinate with Operations and Warehouse to meet vessel ETA/ETD.
- Handle urgent and last-minute vessel requirements.
- Maintain supplier records, price lists, and purchasing documentation.
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in quotation preparation and purchasing (trading, foodstuff, hardware, spare parts, catering supply, or marine supply).
- Proven experience issuing LPOs/POs and following up with suppliers until delivery.
- Strong supplier sourcing, price comparison, and negotiation skills.
- Good Excel skills and working knowledge of any ERP system.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluent English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Currently residing in the UAE.
Preferred (not essential — training provided)
- Experience in Ship Chandling or Marine Supply.
- Familiarity with IMPA / ISSA catalogues and codes.
- Pricing experience across Fresh & Frozen Food, Dry Stores, Cabin Stores, Bonded Stores, Deck & Engine Stores, Safety Equipment (LSA/FFE), and Marine Spare Parts.
- Experience dealing with vessel Masters, Chief Cooks, and crew.
- UAE ports experience (Jebel Ali, Port Khalid, Hamriyah, Fujairah, Khor Fakkan).
