Accountabilities: Design, develop, test, and ship scalable and reliable backend systems powering code scanning and code quality services across large distributed environments. Architect and implement APIs, services, and integrations that enable seamless security analysis within developer workflows and CI/CD pipelines. Lead technical design discussions, write architecture proposals, and contribute to roadmap planning aligned with product and security goals. Own system health, reliability, and performance, including participation in on-call rotations and incident response for production systems. Apply static analysis, telemetry, and debugging tools to optimize system performance, reliability, and maintainability at scale. Drive engineering excellence by defining testing strategies, success metrics, and quality standards for distributed systems. Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance to elevate team-wide engineering practices. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to deliver secure, high-quality, and scalable solutions. Support continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines and automation practices to enhance deployment reliability and speed. Contribute to the long-term technical vision of code scanning systems, incorporating new technologies including AI-driven approaches. Requirements 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent), with strong background in building and operating production-scale systems. Strong proficiency in backend or systems programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, JavaScript, Rust, or C#. Experience designing distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud-native applications at scale. Strong understanding of APIs, relational databases, CI/CD systems, and production-grade software delivery practices. Experience with system reliability engineering practices, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response. Ability to write clear architecture documentation and lead technical discussions across multiple stakeholders. Proven ability to mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of high-quality, maintainable code. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging, observability, and system optimization. Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to deliver cross-functional initiatives. Nice to have: experience building or integrating AI-powered or agentic systems in production environments.
