Senior Clinical Analyst and Programmer

Accountabilities: The Senior Clinical Analyst and Programmer will lead programming activities that support clinical data review, safety monitoring, and centralized monitoring initiatives. The role requires strong SAS expertise, attention to regulatory standards, and the ability to translate business and clinical requirements into efficient programming solutions.

Develop and maintain clinical data listings, reports, and programming solutions to support data review activities.

Analyze requirements from Data Management and Risk-Based Study Management teams and create effective programming solutions within agreed timelines and budgets.

Create listing specifications based on user requirements, protocols, EDC databases, and data validation specifications.

Develop SAS-based data review listings and safety review listings for clinical studies.

Create and maintain libraries of standardized manual data review listings.

Support the development of reports and listings used for centralized monitoring activities.

Document programming changes, specifications, and processes according to quality standards.

Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures related to data standards implementation.

Contribute to strategies that improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and overall programming processes.

Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry guidelines, internal procedures, and sponsor expectations.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior analysts and programmers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate and timely clinical data solutions.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in clinical research programming, strong SAS capabilities, and a solid understanding of clinical trial data processes. You should be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced regulated environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related discipline required.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field is an advantage.

Minimum 10 years of clinical research experience within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or CRO industry.

At least 5 years of hands-on SAS programming experience.

Strong understanding of clinical trial data, SAS datasets, database specifications, and clinical development processes.

Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to clinical research.

SAS certification and/or Advanced Programmer certification is preferred.

Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

Effective project planning, organization, and time management abilities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.

Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic and high-speed environment.

Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to process improvement.
