Accountabilities: As a Mechanical Engineer, you will own the technical evaluation of mechanical infrastructure across the full data center acquisition and development lifecycle. You will help ensure that cooling systems, equipment strategies, and mechanical designs are technically viable before projects move forward, while contributing to scalable processes for future infrastructure expansion.

Lead mechanical engineering evaluations for prospective data center sites, colocation opportunities, and build-to-suit projects.

Conduct technical due diligence focused on cooling capacity, mechanical systems, equipment feasibility, and infrastructure readiness.

Assess cooling approaches including liquid cooling, air cooling, hybrid solutions, chiller plants, and CRAH/CRAC systems for AI and hyperscale workloads.

Provide technical recommendations and Go/No-Go input based on mechanical feasibility, project risks, and operational requirements.

Define mechanical assumptions for capacity planning, project budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.

Partner with engineering teams to establish cooling topology, equipment strategies, redundancy approaches, and design criteria.

Evaluate BMS controls integration, commissioning requirements, equipment availability, and vendor constraints.

Ensure mechanical design intent and technical requirements are maintained from acquisition through construction delivery.

Develop technical readiness standards, evaluation frameworks, and repeatable processes for infrastructure assessments.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, consulting engineers, equipment suppliers, and commissioning partners to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced mechanical engineering professional with a strong background in mission-critical environments, data centers, and complex infrastructure projects. You should be comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, and creating technical frameworks while collaborating with diverse teams.

8+ years of experience in data center mechanical engineering, MEP design, or mission-critical mechanical systems.

Strong expertise in cooling topology design, liquid cooling systems, chiller plants, and CRAH/CRAC configurations.

Experience evaluating mechanical feasibility for data center sites or facilities before commercial commitments.

Solid understanding of mechanical capacity planning, equipment selection, redundancy strategies, and capital expenditure trade-offs.

Experience supporting hyperscale data center, AI infrastructure, or large-scale technology environments is highly preferred.

Knowledge of BMS controls integration and mechanical systems commissioning processes.

Experience with colocation or build-to-suit infrastructure due diligence is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work autonomously, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or similar certification is considered an advantage.

Benefits:

Competitive compensation package.

Flexible remote-first working environment with ownership and autonomy.

Career growth opportunities and continuous learning support.

Opportunity to work on large-scale AI infrastructure projects with global impact.

Collaborative international environment with talented engineering teams.

Chance to help define technical standards, processes, and frameworks for future infrastructure development.

Innovative culture focused on trust, ownership, and meaningful impact.
