Java / Spring Boot Software Developer

Accountabilities: The Java / Spring Boot Software Developer will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system design to implementation, testing, and deployment. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Design, develop, test, and maintain object-oriented software applications using Java.

Build and enhance backend services and REST APIs using Java and the Spring Boot framework.

Develop modern frontend applications using ReactJS and component-based design approaches.

Perform software requirements analysis, system integration activities, research, and technical design.

Apply software engineering principles, standards, and methodologies to solve complex technical challenges.

Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices by creating unit and integration tests throughout the development process.

Support CI/CD workflows by contributing to automated build, testing, and deployment processes using tools such as Jenkins, Harness, or GitHub Actions.

Design and integrate APIs, including RESTful endpoint architecture, versioning, and documentation using standards such as OpenAPI/Swagger.

Work with data streaming technologies, including Kafka concepts such as producers, consumers, topics, and partitions.

Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business and operational goals.

Provide technical expertise and contribute as a subject matter resource when needed.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a skilled software developer with experience building enterprise applications and a strong understanding of modern development practices. They should demonstrate technical proficiency, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative remote environment.

2+ years of professional experience in software development or related engineering roles.

Proven experience developing object-oriented applications using Java.

Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend development.

Experience building frontend applications with ReactJS.

Solid understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and best practices.

Practical experience with Test-Driven Development, unit testing, and integration testing.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery workflows.

Knowledge of REST API design, integration patterns, and documentation practices.

Exposure to Kafka or similar data streaming platforms.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to resolve complex technical issues.

Ability to apply technical standards and methodologies to support business objectives.

U.S. citizenship required.

Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
