Accountabilities Support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of data governance frameworks, policies, standards, procedures, and operating models.

Act as a Data Standards Architect by defining and maintaining data standards, naming conventions, business definitions, data structures, reference data, and governance requirements.

Align data governance practices with enterprise architecture, security, privacy, records management, and regulatory requirements.

Establish clear data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and decision-rights models, including RACI structures across business and technical teams.

Partner with Data Stewards, Data Owners, business stakeholders, security, privacy, legal, records management, and technology teams to operationalize governance requirements.

Classify and manage data assets according to their sensitivity, criticality, business value, privacy requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Translate policies and regulatory requirements into practical data governance controls, procedures, and operational processes.

Identify governance gaps, risks, and compliance issues and coordinate appropriate remediation activities.

Support data access, sharing, usage, and lifecycle governance processes while ensuring appropriate privacy and security controls.

Participate in governance councils, working groups, and data domain forums, contributing expertise and helping drive consistent adoption.

Create and maintain governance documentation, standards, procedures, decision logs, glossaries, lineage information, and supporting artifacts.

Monitor the adoption and effectiveness of governance policies and standards and report program metrics, maturity, and compliance status to leadership.

Support governance assessments, audits, compliance reviews, maturity evaluations, roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Develop training materials and deliver awareness sessions that help teams understand data governance policies, standards, and regulatory expectations.

Requirements

Master’s degree in a relevant field, with 5+ years of general experience in information systems and 7+ years of specialized experience, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.

Demonstrated experience supporting or implementing enterprise data governance programs and operating models.

Strong ability to translate governance policies and regulatory requirements into practical processes, controls, and delivery practices.

Solid understanding of data quality management, metadata management, data stewardship, classification, and governance frameworks.

Experience governing sensitive, regulated, or high-risk data within environments with strict compliance requirements.

Hands-on experience with data quality profiling, monitoring techniques, and common data governance tooling.

Experience defining and maintaining enterprise data standards across multiple teams, platforms, or delivery environments.

Strong knowledge of data modeling, data integration patterns, and change data capture concepts.

Experience with metadata and data catalog platforms such as Collibra, Alation, or Qlik.

Practical knowledge of implementing business glossaries, data lineage, and metadata capabilities within modern data platforms.

Ability to translate technical metadata and governance concepts into clear, business-friendly definitions and documentation.

Experience implementing data privacy controls, access management practices, and compliant data-sharing processes.

Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with security, governance, engineering, legal, compliance, and business teams.

Preferred: experience in federal government or other highly regulated environments, familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks, and a recognized data management certification.

Salary range of $128,039–$173,229 , depending on experience, geographic location, and applicable contractual requirements.

Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week .
