Major duties

• Oversees the Support Services and Inventory Branches in support of the Depot's Operations Division.
• Manages programs in business operations, finance, personnel, and training programs while overseeing logistics, including supply chain, distribution, property, equipment, and facilities.
• Develops programs and policies that complement and support varied operating programs.
• Oversees studies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of work methods, organizations, manpower utilization, work distribution, management controls, job order allocations, and information systems and related management functions.
• Coordinates all aspects of organization resource management programs for the command's distribution mission.
• Oversees and provides administrative supervision for inventory management, systems support, and special projects.
• Provides oversight for the testing, administration, and implementation of supply systems associated with distribution functions.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Manages subordinate employees performing the following functions: inventory management, systems support, resource management programs, internal stock positioning, automated material handling system maintenance, and facilities management. Conducts studies to analyze work methods, organizations, manpower, work distribution, allocations, and related functions to determine efficiency and effectiveness. Oversees the testing and implementation of supply systems within a distribution organization. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
