Management Accountant

Bury Permanent - on-site £40,000 - £45,000 DOE

Are you a qualified or nearly qualified Management Accountant looking for a role where you can take ownership of month-end and develop your technical and commercial skills?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive finance team, working across three trading entities. You'll have a varied role covering management accounts, reconciliations, journals, VAT, controls and financial analysis, with plenty of scope to develop.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own month-end activities across three entities
• Prepare and review P&L and balance sheet accounts
• Post journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Complete and review bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
• Handle more hands-on accounting duties including AP, AR, fixed assets and VAT where required
• Investigate financial trends, variances and unusual movements
• Support audit and SOX control requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting
• Build strong relationships with operational and commercial teams

What We're Looking For

• ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified, nearly qualified or qualified by experience
• Strong understanding of double-entry accounting and month-end processes
• Experience with journals, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
• Strong Excel skills and confidence analysing financial data
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot trends and anomalies
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
• SOX experience is desirable but not essential
