Senior Compliance Officer Transactiemonitoring

Role purpose: Lead and strengthen transaction monitoring activities to detect, investigate, and mitigate financial crime risks, ensuring compliance with AML/CTF regulations and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end transaction monitoring processes, including alert triage, investigation, escalation, and closure.
• Perform and document complex investigations (e.g., unusual transactions, typologies, sanctions-related concerns) and recommend risk-based actions.
• Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting where applicable (e.g., suspicious activity reporting) and maintain audit-ready case files.
• Enhance monitoring rules, scenarios, thresholds, and segmentation using data-driven insights and emerging typologies.
• Partner with stakeholders (Compliance, Risk, Operations, Product, Data/IT) to improve controls, tooling, and process efficiency.
• Support quality assurance, metrics, and continuous improvement; identify control gaps and implement remediation.
• Contribute to policies, procedures, training, and guidance for transaction monitoring and investigations.

Required skills and experience

• Strong knowledge of AML/CTF frameworks, transaction monitoring methodologies, and financial crime typologies.
• Proven experience handling complex investigations and writing clear, defensible case narratives.
