Travel Consultant
Functional roles and responsibilities
- Provide customers with desired information on various travel options available, assist them to choose the most suitable route/airline according to their budget and needs, and process their tickets in time to enable them to make well-informed decisions on their travel and embark on the journey.
- Make proposals to clients to limit the cost of travel or offer services to reduce the add-on costs like airport pick-ups, hotel accommodation, etc.
- Comply with all administrative policies and procedures relating to ticketing and collection of cash/cheques from customers, in order to avoid discrepancies and disputes at a later date and to maintain transparency in all transactions dealing with money.
- Maintain an up-to-date database on all regular customers pertaining to their bookings, frequent traveler numbers, meal/seat preferences, etc., to offer them personalized service and sustain their continued patronage.
- Receive and process customer feedback, after completion of travel, to gauge their views and opinions on the level and quality of service offered by ATTA and scope for improvement, if any.
- Follow up with defaulting customers to collect overdue payments to enable the company to settle its accounts and achieve its business objectives.
- Update one’s product knowledge, general information on latest developments, rules/regulations pertaining to travel industry to be enabled to offer the precise kind of advice that suits the customers’ needs and ensures their satisfaction.
Education/certification and continued education
- Intermediate / “A” Levels
- Additional qualifications in IATA certification would be an advantage
Years of experience
- 3-5 years experience in the travel industry
