Azure Data Engineer

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join our Cairo team. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize scalable data solutions on the Azure platform, leveraging Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and PySpark to support our data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory

Implement and optimize ETL/ELT processes with PySpark on Azure Databricks

Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to define data requirements and deliverables

Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability through validation, testing, and monitoring

Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and performance issues in production

Document technical designs, best practices, and provide guidance to team members

Required qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

5-7 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or a related role

Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Data Factory

Strong experience with Azure Databricks and PySpark development

Solid understanding of data modeling, database systems, and data warehousing concepts

Experience building scalable ETL/ELT solutions and data pipelines

Preferred qualifications:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate

Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices for data workflows

Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Cosmos DB)

Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
