Optimization Engineer

The Optimization Engineer is responsible for improving cellular network performance by analyzing network KPIs, identifying optimization opportunities, and supporting optimization activities for existing and new 4G/5G deployments. The role also includes performance analysis, reporting, and collaboration with technical teams and vendors.

Monitor and analyze cellular network performance using available statistical data, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and optimization tools.

Support the identification of network performance issues and the investigation of their potential causes.

Perform core analysis of 2G/3G/4G/5G network coverage, capacity, quality, and accessibility indicators (KPI).

Participate in the optimization of newly launched or expanded network sites, including 5G deployment and network expansion projects.

Analyze Drive-Test results and other measurements and support the identification of coverage and quality-related issues.

Prepare reports on network performance, KPI analysis, and optimization recommendations.

Work with planning, transmission, site installation, and other technical teams to resolve network performance issues.

Support the acceptance of new sites and network functions and monitor performance post-launch.

Assist in the analysis of network issues affecting customers and contribute to their resolution.

Apply and develop skills in using network planning and optimization tools.

Collaborate with equipment vendors and participate in technical discussions regarding network efficiency and optimization.

Maintain technical documentation and follow established optimization procedures and standards.

Continuously develop knowledge regarding radio access technologies (including 4G and 5G), core network Key Performance Indicators (KPI), optimization methods, and relevant tools.

Higher education in radio engineering—in telecommunications, radio engineering, electronics, or related fields.

2-3 years of relevant work experience in the mobile telecommunications sector (preferably in RAN optimization).

Deep understanding of radio engineering and wireless communication principles.

Good understanding of RAN technologies and network efficiency optimization processes.

Knowledge of RAN optimization and planning tools/software, as well as relevant products in the telecommunications field.

Knowledge of cellular network architecture, configuration, and design principles.

Experience in conducting Drive-tests (mobile measurements), data analysis, and post-processing will be considered an advantage.

Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Good knowledge of English and Russian languages.

Developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with technical and cross-functional teams.

Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
