PAINTER SUPERVISOR

You will serve as a PAINTER SUPERVISOR in the COATING & SERVICES SHOP (971), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

• You will resolve working problems and take necessary corrective action to overcome delays.
• You will inspect work in progress to assure efficiency, economy and safety of operations.
• You will secure issues, oversee and advise on the use of safety equipment.
• You will enforce safety, fire, and other regulations and maintain good "housekeeping" in work areas supervised.

Setting up and using pumps and spray equipment such as conventional, airless, air assisted airless, high volume low pressure, electrostatic, electrostatic powder, and plasma powder application. Planning sequence of operations for groups of employees. Participating in personnel matters including performance ratings; leave request, disciplinary and commendatory actions.
