Education:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience.

Work site environment:

Outdoors. Dusty. Work setting: Various locations.

Tasks:

• Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation .
• Operate heavy equipment.
• Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks.
• Operate computer controlled equipment.
• Complete onboard and other logs.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment.
• Secure special attachments to equipment.
• Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
• Operate hydraulic pumping systems.

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :

• Driver's License (Class 3 or D).
• Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
• Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate.
• Ground Disturbance - Level 1 program.

Equipment and machinery experience:

Drills.

Security and safety:

Driving record check (abstract).

Transportation/travel information:

Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is not available.

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment.

Own tools/equipment:

• Steel-toed safety boots.
• Hard hat.
• Safety glasses/goggles.
• Gloves.

Experience:

3 years to less than 5 years.
