early childhood educator (ECE) assistant

Aufgaben

The Asst Teacher assists the RECE in providing high quality, developmentally appropriate and enriched activities having children?s individual interests and needs in consideration.

Main Responsibilities:

• Help the RECE to Plan and implements developmentally appropriate activities for children while meeting the child?s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Observes and keeps record of children?s development, needs and interests

• Follow and implement all center?s policies and procedures
• Ensures that the program operates in compliance with all the licensing standards

• Participate in meetings as requested
• Participate in mentoring and training students

• Supervise children to guarantee their safety and well-being
• Plan environments and experiences that support intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development and learning through play exploration and inquiry

• Provide a daily balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor, and individual/group activities
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

• Role model appropriate behavior

• Maintain clear and concise reporting of accidents, injuries, illnesses, as well as conducting health checks of children

• Ensures toys and equipment used in activities are maintained in a safe clean condition and kept in a good state of repair. Sets up activity area and ensures physical environment is safe.
• Provide guidance and ensure correct use of the materials

• Assist with light cleaning

• Maintain records (daily log, check lists, Hi Mama reports, etc.)

Anforderungen

• Fundamental knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen? and Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT)
• Maintains regular communication with parents

Physical Conditions and capacities:

• Bending and kneeling thought the day
• Ability to lift 30 pounds
