Consultant Hematologist

Key responsibilities

Diagnose and manage complex haematological conditions.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and investigations.

Manage patients with anaemia, bleeding and clotting disorders, thrombosis, and other blood disorders.

Evaluate and manage haematological malignancies where applicable.

Interpret laboratory, pathology, flow cytometry, and relevant diagnostic results.

Collaborate with oncology, pathology, radiology, and other specialties.

Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and tumour boards.

Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations and follow-up care.

Support clinical audits, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.

Mentor junior physicians and contribute to teaching and training.

Requirements

Medical degree with recognised postgraduate qualification in hematology / haematology & internal medicine.

Consultant-level clinical experience.

American, Canadian, Australian, Irish Board, CCT/CCST or equivalent preferred.

Experience in a tertiary hospital or comprehensive hematology service.

DHA / DoH / MOHAP licence or eligibility preferred.

Strong clinical, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
