Backend Software Engineer

Tech / Fintech · Mid · Lagos / Remote About the Role A fast-growing fintech company is scaling its engineering team and looking for a Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain the systems behind its core product. What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs
• Write clean, tested, well-documented code
• Optimise systems for performance, scalability, and reliability
• Collaborate with frontend and product teams on feature delivery
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
• Support production systems and troubleshoot issues

What We're Looking For

• 2–4 years backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, Java, Go, etc.)
• Experience with relational/NoSQL databases
• Understanding of REST APIs and system design fundamentals
• Comfortable working in an agile environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices or cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
