Master (MSc) Thesis ''Development and Validation of Daughter Boards''
Über das Unternehmen
Are you interested in contributing to the development of hardware for future space missions? OHB Sweden is looking for a Master's student to support the development and validation of unit daughter boards.
You will carry out the thesis as part of OHB Sweden's Avionics and Electrical department, working closely with experienced engineers and contributing to the development of technology intended for future space applications.
Aufgaben
During the thesis, you will work with the complete early-stage development process, from defining the concepts to preliminary sizing, modelling, and electronics design. The work will involve balancing key considerations such as performance, reliability, costs, and manufacturability. You will have the possibility to design, set up, and test a proof-of-concept prototype.
The student will contribute to the development of the electronic boards through activities such as:
- Analysis of requirements and their design consequences,
- Review and consolidation of the component selection,
- Design, Schematics and analysis of electronics (FMEA, reliability, WCA),
- PCB routing and procurement of assembled PCB from local suppliers,
- Prototype integration together with existing development boards,
- Support to driver coding,
- Assessment of performance through measurements and tests
Anforderungen
The position is suitable for Master's students in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Preliminary experience (through university courses, extra curriculum activities or autodidact) in the following domains is expected / required:
- Electronics schematics and PCB routing (i.e KiCAD)
- General knowledge of electronic circuits (memories, ADCs, power converters, etc.)
- Spice Simulations (i.e circuits op amps, filtering, etc.)
- Testing (i.e power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeter)
- Scripting (i.e Python)
Wir bieten
The student will become part of OHB Sweden's Avionics and electrical team and contribute to the development of a Innosat avionics architecture. The work offers hands-on experience with real hardware development and close collaboration with engineers working on current and future space missions.
Successful thesis work may also open a path towards future employment within the Avionics & Electrical team at OHB Sweden.
