Senior Java Developer – Equity Derivatives (Trading Engineering)

Java • Low Latency • Microservices • Kafka (or similar) We are hiring a Senior Java Developer to join a high‑performance Equity Derivatives Trading Engineering team. You will design and build low‑latency, high‑throughput trading, market data and pricing systems used across global markets. This role requires strong hands‑on Java engineering skills and experience working in fast‑paced, front‑office aligned environments. Key Responsibilities Develop and enhance low‑latency Java applications for equity derivatives trading.

Build microservices and distributed systems supporting pricing, risk, and execution workflows.

Implement high‑performance messaging and streaming using Kafka or similar technologies .

Work closely with traders, quants, and engineering teams to deliver front‑office solutions.

Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability across global trading environments.

Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous engineering improvements.

Requirements Strong hands‑on experience with Core Java , low‑latency systems, and multithreading.

Experience building microservices and distributed architectures.

Knowledge of Kafka , messaging systems, or similar streaming technologies.

Background in Equity Derivatives , trading systems, or financial markets preferred.

Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimisation.

Ability to work in fast‑paced, front‑office engineering teams.

Good to Have Experience with pricing engines, market data feeds, or execution platforms.

Exposure to risk systems, volatility surfaces, or derivatives lifecycle workflows.

Familiarity with CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud-native engineering.
