Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

- Define the enterprise analytical architecture — common facts, dimensions, conformed hierarchies, subject-area marts, semantic models, and reusable design patterns
- Set engineering standards for grain, keys, joins, temporal/effective-date logic, transformation design, testing, reconciliation, lineage, version control, and technical release
- Determine how complex approved business definitions are implemented and design reusable enterprise transformation patterns using SQL, Python, dbt, or equivalent frameworks
- Own the technical architecture and performance of shared semantic/tabular models, including relationships, hierarchies, reusable measures, calculation patterns, and security design
- Design enterprise testing and reconciliation frameworks and lead the hardest challenged-figure investigations, high-risk modelling issues, and cross-system conformance problems
Lead analytical migration and coexistence strategy, assess enterprise impact of source changes, review complex BI Engineer work, coach the team, and remain hands-on in the hardest engineering cases
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years in BI engineering, analytics engineering, analytical data modelling, or semantic modelling, including at least 2 years in a senior or technical-lead capacity
- Expert SQL — complex joins, CTEs, window functions, conditional aggregation, temporal/effective-date logic, deduplication, and performance tuning
- Deep dimensional and analytical modelling — grain, facts, dimensions, conformed dimensions, hierarchies, slowly changing dimensions, and effective-date structures
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise or multi-domain analytical architectures, reusable transformation patterns, automated testing, reconciliation, lineage, version control, and controlled deployment
- Strong semantic/tabular modelling, advanced DAX and Python, plus evidence of architecture decisions, design review, mentoring, or ownership of complex multi-team analytical solutions
