Job Description & Requirements Key Responsibilities and Duties Analyzing blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine project requirements. Measuring, marking, and cutting materials (wood, drywall, metal) to required dimensions. Building frameworks for structures, including floor joists, wall studs, roof rafters, and stairs. Installing doors, windows, cabinets, molding, drywall, insulation, and siding. Sanding, staining, varnishing, and installing fixtures like locks and door handles. Repairing or replacing damaged frameworks, structures, and fixtures in residential or commercial buildings. Safely operating hand tools (chisels, levels) and power tools (saws, drills, sanders). Ensuring compliance with local building codes and health/safety regulations. Proficiency in carpentry techniques, materials, and blueprint reading. Strong arithmetic skills for precise measurements and calculations. Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work at heights or in confined spaces Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
