You will identify, prioritise and implement initiatives that create both commercial and sustainable value. The role combines strategic advisory work, technical and financial analysis, and hands-on project management. It requires someone who can identify opportunities, build robust investment cases, and help ensure approved projects are delivered successfully.
**Key Responsibilities
**
Lead and coordinate building certification processes, including DGNB In-Use, BREEAM In-Use and similar schemes.
Identify, analyse and prioritise energy-saving and value-creating sustainability initiatives across the portfolio.
Prepare business cases, decision papers and recommendations to support CAPEX planning, decarbonization strategies and investment decisions.
Manage ESG data collection, quality assurance, reporting and client deliverables.
Collaborate with Asset Management, Property Management, country teams and external specialists to embed sustainability initiatives in asset action plans and follow them through to implementation.
**Candidate Profile
**
We are looking for a sustainability and energy professional with approximately 5-10+ years of relevant experience, ideally gained within real estate or construction sector, either in engineering or consulting environment. The successful candidate will combine technical credibility with strong commercial understanding, sound judgement and the ability to turn complex analyses into practical recommendations and projects.
The ideal candidate will have:
A master’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, energy, environmental science, sustainability, or real estate.
Experience and accreditation to conduct DGNB In-Use, BREEAM In-Use or comparable building certification schemes.
Strong knowledge of energy optimization and building energy consumption analysis.
A solid understanding of real estate economics, CAPEX planning, and investment decision-making.
Proven project management skills and experience coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders.
A structured, independent and delivery-oriented way of working.
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical topics clearly.
Professional proficiency in English, Danish and potentially any other Nordic language.
**What We Offer
**
This is a newly created role with a key part to play in developing Fokus Nordic’s sustainability and energy capabilities across the Nordics.
You will join a strong professional and collaborative environment with short decision-making lines, a high level of responsibility and real opportunities to shape projects, solutions and our approach to sustainability across the property portfolio.
The role involves regular collaboration across the Nordic organisation, and candidates should expect occasional travel between Fokus Nordic’s offices and properties in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki.
