Cutting Specialist

Own cutting-room engineering — marker efficiency, spreading and cutting quality — and define cutting standards for the Production Handover Package to maximize fabric utilization and protect cut-panel quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize marker making and fabric utilization; set and monitor marker-efficiency targets.
• Define spreading and cutting method, ply height, splicing and bundling for each style.
• Assess cutting feasibility at Feasibility — fabric behavior, tolerances, plaid/stripe matching.
• Produce cutting standards and PF&D/allowance inputs for the Production Handover Package.
• Establish cut-panel quality checks: notch, drill mark, panel dimension and shade-band control.
• Verify the pilot cut at Pre-Production Verification with Production sign-off.
• Drive fabric-saving initiatives, end-loss reduction and remnant control.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Industrial / Textile / Apparel Engineering or a related field. 5+ years in the cutting room, including marker/CAD and spreading & cutting operations, with team-lead experience. CAD marker software (Gerber / Lectra / Optitex), auto-cutter and spreading machines, MS Excel. Cross-functional collaboration with PDU, IE, Production and QA. English — able to read technical tech packs and communicate at working level with buyers/suppliers. Marker efficiency, fabric utilization, shade/shrinkage grouping and plaid/stripe matching. Spreading and cutting equipment (auto / straight-knife) and cut-order planning.
