SAFETY ENGINEER

Job Summary

We are looking for a Safety Engineer who will be responsible for implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety programs at the project site. The role will ensure compliance with company safety policies, project requirements, and applicable Philippine occupational safety and health standards while promoting a safe working environment for all employees, workers, subcontractors, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Implement and monitor the project’s Safety and Health Program and safety procedures. Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe work practices. Recommend and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures. Monitor compliance with company safety policies, project safety requirements, and applicable OSH standards. Conduct toolbox meetings, safety orientations, and safety training for employees and workers. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety controls. Prepare and maintain safety inspection reports, incident reports, safety records, and other required documentation. Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and recommend corrective actions. Monitor high-risk activities and ensure that appropriate permits, controls, and safety procedures are in place. Coordinate with Project Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors, and other site personnel regarding safety concerns. Assist in emergency preparedness, drills, and response procedures. Monitor housekeeping and site conditions to ensure a safe and orderly work environment. Conduct safety audits and follow up on identified findings until properly resolved. Monitor safety performance and prepare regular safety reports and statistics. Ensure that workers are properly oriented and qualified before performing assigned tasks. Coordinate with relevant government agencies and project stakeholders on safety-related requirements, when necessary. Promote a strong safety culture across the project site. Perform other safety-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements: Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field. Preferably a Licensed Engineer. At least 2–5 years of experience in construction safety or occupational safety , preferably in project-site operations. Must have appropriate DOLE-recognized Occupational Safety and Health training/certification, as required by the position and project. Experience in Building, Infrastructure, Heavy Civil, or Light Civil projects is an advantage. Knowledge of Philippine Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSH Standards) and construction safety practices. Knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, incident investigation, and safety inspection procedures. Good communication, leadership, and coordination skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Willing to be assigned to project sites and work in different locations. Preferred Skills
