Application Build/Ops Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary operational and technical support for applications and assist functional teams.
• Improve application reliability and quality through automation, monitoring, alerting, security improvements and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve environment and middleware issues.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency and reduce time-to-market.
• Support vulnerability and technology obsolescence remediation activities.
• Manage technical issues and escalations while ensuring timely delivery and resolution.
• Maintain, improve and standardize operational workflows, processes and frameworks.
• Develop technical documentation and contribute to knowledge-sharing and training activities.
• Work closely with development and operations teams to strengthen application operations and deployment practices.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in DevOps Engineering, Application Services or a similar technical operations role .
• Relevant industry certifications will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of database concepts and SQL scripting; experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL is preferred.
• Proficient in Git .
• Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot technologies.
• Basic to intermediate experience with ELK Stack .
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
• Hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana .
• Good knowledge of Linux .
• Knowledge of ITIL principles and practices.
• Good understanding of asynchronous systems and message brokers such as Kafka .
• Understanding of IT production environments and deployment processes/pipelines.

Good to Have

• Experience with cloud operations, such as AWS or GCP .
• Experience with Bamboo, Jenkins or GitLab Runners .
• Experience working in the financial services industry or other regulated environments.
• Programming or scripting skills for automation.
