We are open to internships all year round and post regularly.   We’re always looking for passionate, curious, and motivated interns to join our mission.   This is your chance to collaborate with world-class experts, gain real-world experience, and make meaningful contributions in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.     In this internship, you will work at the intersection of robotics, 3D perception, and interactive digital twins to enable intuitive tasking and simulation of mobile robots. You will explore state-of-the-art perception and visualization technologies and prototype interactive 3D representations that bridge human semantic understanding with the robot’s geometric world model. The work focuses on pre-deployment robot configuration, inspection task setup, and behavior simulation to improve usability, safety, and transparency in real-world industrial environments. Your Contributions Project Support: Work closely with our engineers and researchers on active projects across the entire software stack, from application software to autonomy stack and low-level software. Algorithm Implementation: Design, implement, test, and validate new algorithms and features for applications and the autonomy of our robots. Testing & Infrastructure: Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing infrastructure, simulation environments, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure the robustness and reliability of the ANYmal platform. Code Development & Testing: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented C++ and Python code for real-time operation on the robot. Contribute to our robust testing and simulation infrastructure. System Integration: Assist in integrating new software modules, and third-party libraries in our existing software stack. Your Profile Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. Foundational Knowledge: Solid academic knowledge and proven ability in one or more areas relevant to mobile robotics, such as Control Theory, Machine Learning, Computer Vision. Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++ (Modern C++ is highly valued). Software Development Skills: Experience with Git, Docker, and AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot). Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in our highly interdisciplinary, English-speaking environment. Attitude: A hands-on, proactive, and analytical attitude towards complex problem-solving and eagerness to learn rapidly. Bonus points, a few extra things that would make us especially excited about your application You have trained AI models on GPUs and have explored CUDA or other GPU-accelerated computing frameworks. You spend your weekends automating your workflows with Agentic AI. You know and worked with Robotics Middleware (ROS/ROS 2).
