Your tasks
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, potentially including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, communication difficulties and learning disabilities. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance that enables pupils to participate in lessons, develop independence and build confidence.
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
- Assisting teachers with differentiated activities and individual learning plans.
- Supporting communication, social development and independent learning.
- Helping pupils manage daily routines and transitions between activities.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Working collaboratively with school staff to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
