Information Support SpecialistInformation Support Services (2630) - Victoria, British ColumbiaPOSITION:  Information Support SpecialistDEPARTMENT / DIVISION / SECTION:  Police / Information Risk Management / Information Support ServicesCompetition Number:  P26-26Date of Issue: September 3, 2026Closing Date: September 24, 2026Pay Group:  $37.65/hour (CUPE Pay Grade 9)Number of Positions:  2Duration:  Regular Full-TimeWork Schedule:  Shift work: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 offTo Apply:  All submissions shall be sent electronically by 4:30pm on the above closing date and should include all qualifications and experience relevant to the position. POSITION FUNCTION:Provides information support services and works as a collaborative team member with sworn officers administering police file records management support and solutions.  Manages the information flow in the Provincial Records Management System (RMS), Digital Evidence System (DEMS), Canadian Police Information System (CPIC) and other information systems to assist the investigating officers in police arrests and completion of investigative files.  Conducts file review in the first instance to ensure high quality data and compliance with Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) standards.  KEY DUTIES:Import, enter, update, modify and delete data, digital media and operational police files within the Provincial Digital Evident Management (DEMS), Police Information Management Environment (PRIME) and Police Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems (CAD).Manage workflow queues to ensure timely processing and routing of files.  Upload and review PRIME files received from the investigating officers to ensure entities and vehicles are accurately entered and updated in the Master Name Indexes.  Liaise with officers regarding file corrections and requests for service.   Review and correct Canadian Centre Justice Statistics (CCJS) errors and ensure the offence codes under the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) codes are reviewed and accurate in the first instance for each transcribed report; route investigative reports to the appropriate sections for quality and investigative review. Query and extract file information, documentation and criminal records to assist in the preparation of court and bail proceedings.  Conduct research through the police and court databases for criminal records; conduct indices checks with national police agencies; complete and authorize the required forms, confirm identities.Provide information on operations and processes of the Information Services Section including police report and CPIC information to authorized personnel/agencies.  Review, research and confirm all warrant requests.  Review, route and distribute Court and CPIC correspondence and documentation including, memos and reports to the Court and CPIC Operators.  Participates and provides solutions to problems relating to records management with other team members. Query, add, remove, locate and confirm CPIC Records as required.  Monitor, distribute and process the incoming CPIC messages in the absence of the CPIC Specialists.  Compose and send CPIC narrative messages for officers and liaise with external agencies as needed. Enter and delete police hazard information from the CAD system. Verify, enter, update and remove information, such as court orders, persons, vehicles and property from the Canadian Police Information Centre system as per legislative requirements.Review fingerprint submission in the first instance for any errors and for sworn information in the court module of PRIME; conduct detailed research and analysis in matching known offender fingerprints. Perform duties related to the processing of fingerprint destruction requests, record suspensions police information checks, and the sealing of files including young offender records as required.Perform queries on the provincial criminal justice system (JUSTIN) related to warrant validation; query CORNET to assist officers in determining whether a potential suspect is
