Lead Facilities Maintenance and Management Specialist
About the Position: Fort Hood rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio. Major duties
- Ensures facilities, equipment, utilities, and grounds meet mission requirements.
- Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, milestones, deadlines and/or program issues under review.
- Distributes and balances workload among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
- Performing surveillance, coordination, operation, termination, and maintenance of physical facilities, infrastructure, utilities, and grounds for all of Fort Hood.
- Exercises direct and indirect interactions with contractor operations and maintenance which consists of a wide range of skilled trades and technical support including electrical, earthwork, and mechanical trades.
- Develops, coordinates, and manages a variety of projects, including (but not limited to) maintenance and repair, rehabilitation, and service projects from inception to completion.
- Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for designated service contracts. Duties as COR include ensuring that contractor performance complies with all contractual provisions and regulatory requirements.
- Serves as a resident technical expert on policy, regulatory matters, operations, maintenance, improvement, and protection of facilities, systems, equipment, grounds, drainage channels, etc. pertaining to facilities.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
