About the company
Uniqus is seeking an experienced and driven assistant manager with a financial services background to join our ARC team. The role involves delivering high-impact advisory services to clients in the banking, insurance, asset management, and fintech sectors, with a focus on complex IFRS matters, regulatory reporting, and transaction accounting.
Your tasks
This role provides an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile financial services clients and complex financial reporting engagements in a fast-paced and dynamic market.
- Support and manage ARC projects for financial services clients, including:
- IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 17 implementations and advisory
- Financial instruments accounting (valuation, classification, impairment)
- Preparation and review of financial statements under IFRS
- Finance transformation and process optimization
- Conduct technical accounting research and prepare client deliverables, including technical memos and position papers
- Work closely with financial services clients to assess their accounting and financial reporting processes and provide tailored solutions
- Support managers and partners in project planning, execution, and client management
- Supervise and coach junior team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Assist in business development efforts, proposals, and client presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA) is required
- 4-6 years of experience in accounting advisory or audit, with a minimum of 2-3 years working with financial services clients (banks, insurers, investment firms)
- Strong understanding of IFRS, especially standards relevant to financial instruments and insurance contracts
- Experience in the UAE or wider GCC financial services market is a strong advantage
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of data analytics tools is a plus
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage
