About the Role

The Associate Manager is responsible for managing a team while designing, executing, and reporting on standard work processes to ensure freight transportation service expectations are met and exceeded. The team is responsible for functions like planning and on-time delivery of customer freight while controlling costs and providing excellent customer communication. The ideal candidate can use statistical data to drive efficiency as well as use root cause analysis tools to improve business processes and exceed customer expectations.  This associate manager will work closely with stakeholders in the US and/or Canada. Cross-cultural collaboration is a must for manager and team members.

What the Candidate Will Do

Supervise day-to-day activities of team members

Schedule staff and distribute workload – work closely with US and/or Canadian stakeholders to meet business requirements

Associate managers may need to cover work for their team members and may have 30% of time dedicated to production responsibilities

Ensure team members meet daily goals and monitor individual and team performance 

Develop, implement and maintain effective processes 

Proactively generate and share ideas that lead to process efficiency and customer experience improvement

Develop and distribute customer and internal performance management reports 

Develop strong relationships across organization

Develop team members by providing training opportunities, projects, mentoring and coaching 

Create and maintain strong team culture in line with Uber Freight values and behaviors 

Basic Qualifications

Advanced English, verbal and written

3 years of LOGISTICS (transportation management, brokerage, warehouse, supply chain, etc.) experience WITH increasing level of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to anticipate and resolve problems using root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision.

Excellent people skills, communication, and organizational skills.  

Forward thinking. Ability to envision and implement new concepts/strategies.

Service Orientation (Commits to and enjoys providing exceptional service to internal and external customers).

Strong sense of urgency and capable of working under pressure.

The ability to work in a team environment.
