HGV Mechanic – Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: €36,605- €45,000 per year (gross)
Hours: 39–45 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Frank Pratt & Sons are seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Mechanic to join our workshop in Kilmurray, Trim. This is a full-time permanent position offering a competitive salary and an excellent package for the successful candidate.
Key Duties:
- Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and scheduled maintenance
- Diagnose faults and complete mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs
- Service and repair a varied fleet of HGVs and tipper trailers
- Ensure all work meets required quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Complete documentation and job cards accurately and on time
- Provide daily updates to management on progress and vehicle status
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment
- Work across multiple truck models and tipping trailer types
- Perform additional duties as required by management
Required Skills & Experience:
- Relevant mechanical qualification (e.g., National Craft Certificate, Level 6, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an HGV or heavy vehicle mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of safety standards and maintenance procedures
- Proficiency in English
- Physically fit for the demands of the role
Desirable:
- Experience with hydraulics, electrics, and trailer maintenance
- Knowledge of CVRT preparation and compliance requirements
