Your Company: A high-growth Engineering Services business has partnered with NET Recruit to support their search for a Key Account Manager to join their team in Hampshire. Working closely with key customers and internal teams, the successful candidate will play an important role in understanding client requirements, developing long-term partnerships, and ensuring the company continues to deliver a high standard of service across its strategic accounts. Your Role and Responsibilities While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to: Managing and developing a portfolio of key customer accounts to maximise revenue, profitability, and long-term commercial value. Building strong, trusted relationships with key clients and acting as the primary point of contact for their ongoing requirements. Developing strategic account plans to identify opportunities for growth, retention, cross-selling, and increased share of customer spend. Understanding customer objectives, challenges, and future requirements to identify opportunities for the company's services and solutions. Identifying and developing new opportunities within existing accounts, while supporting wider business development activity where appropriate. Managing the commercial relationship throughout the full customer lifecycle, from initial engagement through to contract negotiation and ongoing account management. Working closely with operational, technical, and service teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered effectively. Coordinating with internal stakeholders to resolve customer issues quickly and maintain consistently high levels of service. Preparing quotations, proposals, commercial agreements, and account reviews where required. Monitoring account performance, sales activity, pipeline opportunities, and revenue against agreed targets. Providing accurate sales forecasts, customer updates, and account performance reports to senior management. Keeping up to date with market developments, customer activity, competitor movements, and emerging opportunities within relevant sectors. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of customer activity, opportunities, and communications through the CRM system. Representing the business at customer meetings, industry events, networking opportunities, and other relevant commercial activities. What you will need to Apply: The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a Key Account Manager, Account Manager, Business Development Manager, or similar commercial role, ideally gained within an engineering services, industrial, construction, fuel, or technical environment. Experience working with complex B2B customers and managing commercially important accounts would be highly advantageous. You will demonstrate a strong track record of developing customer relationships, retaining and growing existing business, and identifying new commercial opportunities. Strong commercial awareness is essential, together with excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. To succeed in this role, you will be confident dealing with customers and decision-makers at all levels and able to understand their requirements before translating these into appropriate commercial solutions. You will have a proactive and consultative approach to account management, with the ability to identify opportunities rather than simply respond to existing customer demand. Experience of working with CRM systems, maintaining sales pipelines, producing forecasts, and monitoring account performance will also be important. A background within an engineering or technical environment would be beneficial, although the ability to build strong relationships and demonstrate commercial success will be key. You will be a commercially driven, organised, and results-focused individual who enjoys developing long-term partnerships and contributing directly to business growth. The role will require someone who is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with operational, technical, and senior management teams.
