Conducting officer Compliance & Risk Management AIFM F/M

A growing Luxembourg-based AIFM specialized in Private Equity investments is looking to appoint an experienced Conducting Officer F/M in charge of Compliance and Risk Management.

This is a senior and hands-on position within the management body of the AIFM, requiring strong operational expertise in Luxembourg regulatory environments and direct experience within an AIFM structure.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance

  • Act as Conducting Officer responsible for Compliance within the AIFM
  • Oversee and continuously improve the compliance framework of the AIFM and managed funds
  • Monitor Luxembourg regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business
  • Approve and supervise the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan using a risk-based approach
  • Oversee compliance controls, documentation, and reporting activities
  • Supervise delegates and third-party service providers from a compliance perspective
  • Ensure regulatory filings and notifications are completed accurately and on time
  • Prepare reports for senior management, Board members, and regulatory authorities
  • Review and approve internal compliance policies and procedures
  • Promote a strong compliance culture across the organization

AML / CFT

  • Oversee the AML/CFT framework in line with Luxembourg regulatory requirements
  • Supervise onboarding, KYC, screening, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring activities
  • Review AML risk assessments related to investors, counterparties, and delegates
  • Ensure periodic reviews are conducted according to risk classifications
  • Coordinate AML training and awareness initiatives
  • Support regulatory reporting obligations and internal governance processes

Risk Management

  • Act as Conducting Officer responsible for Risk Management
  • Oversee the risk management framework of the AIFM and managed funds
  • Maintain and review Risk Management Procedures (RMP)
  • Ensure appropriate methodologies and controls are implemented to identify, monitor, and manage risks
  • Oversee investment compliance monitoring and operational risk controls
  • Ensure adequate reporting to management, Board members, and regulators
  • Participate in new fund launches and strategic initiatives from a risk perspective
  • Assess the impact of regulatory developments on the risk framework

Oversight of Delegates

  • Supervise delegated functions and outsourced service providers in line with AIFMD and CSSF requirements
  • Participate in due diligence and oversight processes for delegates
  • Conduct oversight reviews, KPI monitoring, and governance assessments
  • Identify control gaps and coordinate remediation actions where necessary
  • Maintain delegate oversight documentation and governance frameworks

Governance & Leadership

  • Participate in Management Committee meetings alongside the other Conducting Officers
  • Report regularly to the Board of Directors on areas under responsibility
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams, delegates, and external providers
  • Contribute to the continued development and institutionalization of the AIFM platform
  • Manage and support a small team within the control functions environment

Candidate Profile

  • Mandatory experience within a Luxembourg-based AIFM
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience within asset management, financial services, or regulated fund environments
  • At least 10 years of experience within a Luxembourg AIFM, ManCo, or regulated financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory requirements applicable to AIFMs and Private Equity structures
  • Significant experience in Compliance, AML/CFT, and Risk Management within regulated fund environments
  • Strong exposure to Private Equity or Private Assets structures and operations
  • Direct experience interacting with the CSSF and external auditors
  • Previous approval as Conducting Officer would be considered a strong advantage
