Accountabilities:
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable backend systems using NodeJS, ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability across distributed services.
Participate in key architectural decisions as part of a team responsible for decoupling and modernizing a large-scale platform.
Build and optimize APIs, services, and backend components capable of handling increasing traffic and system complexity.
Collaborate with 40+ engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of new and existing services.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, scaling challenges, and system reliability issues across the platform.
Write clean, testable, and efficient code following best practices in software engineering and cloud-native development.
Improve infrastructure and deployment processes using modern DevOps practices, enhancing automation and system resilience.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Senior NodeJS Engineer building scalable, production-grade backend systems in high-growth environments.
Strong expertise in NodeJS, Express, and backend architecture design for distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and containerization tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
Solid understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, SNS, or Kafka.
Experience working with databases such as MongoDB and caching systems like Redis.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex performance and scaling issues.
Experience working in Agile teams with strong collaboration and communication skills; English and Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
Bonus: experience with microservices, distributed systems, and large-scale system design.
